Ayo Edebiri’s 'Opus' Trailer Promises a Horror Experience Like No Other

The official trailer for Ayo Edebiri’s horror film ‘Opus’ is out, revealing more about its eerie plot and twisted characters.
Just a few days after revealing the release date of Ayo Edebiri’s upcoming horror film Opus, we are blessed with more exciting news! This time, the official trailer has been released, offering a deeper look at the plot.
The trailer features Edebiri’s character, Ariel Ecton, a young writer who is invited to a compound owned by a rock star who has been missing for 30 years. As she’s landing the plane, she begins to notice the strange behavior of the flight attendants and crew.
When she arrives, things take a darker turn. She realizes that the entire group of people living with the rock star, Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich), is acting strangely—almost cult-like. It seems that Moretti himself has a twisted role for Ecton in his sinister plan.
In addition to Edebiri and Malkovich, Opus features Juliette Lewis,
Amber Midthunder,
Murray Bartlett, and
Young Mazino, among others. The film was written and directed by Mark Anthony Green, making his feature film directorial debut. It was shot in Pojoaque, New Mexico, in November 2023.
Edebiri also has another movie coming up this year, the James L. Brooks comedy Ella McCay, starring
Emma Mackey,
Jamie Lee Curtis, and
Woody Harrelson. She will also star alongside
Julia Roberts in
Luca Guadagnino’s thriller After the Hunt.
Once it’s presented at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Opus will go to theaters on March 14—make sure to get your tickets!
