William Franklyn-Miller to Play the First U.S. President in 'Young Washington'

William Franklyn-Miller will play a young George Washington in ‘Young Washington’, set for release on July 4, 2026.

English actor William Franklyn-MillerWilliam Franklyn-Miller has landed the lead role in Young Washington, a new feature film about the early life of the first U.S. president. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 21-year-old actor will portray a young George Washington during the years that shaped his character—starting with a military misstep that triggered the French and Indian War. Production is set to begin later this summer, with a theatrical release planned for July 4, 2026.

The film is directed by Jon Erwin (House of David), who also co-wrote the script with Tom Provost and Diederik Hoogstraten. It’s being produced by Wonder Project, Angel Studios, 10 Ton Productions, and 2521 Entertainment. In a first for the industry, tickets are already available for pre-sale a full year ahead of release via Angel’s platform.

Franklyn-Miller’s past roles include appearances in Arrow, Medici, and Neighbours. He’s currently filming Apple TV’s sci-fi series Neuromancer and will soon appear in the Chinese war epic Dongji Rescue.
