Matt Cornett Cast in BookTok Hit 'Every Summer After' Adaptation for Prime Video

Matt Cornett joins Prime Video’s ‘Every Year After’ as Sam, starring opposite Sadie Soverall in the book-to-series adaptation.
Matt Cornett has been cast as Sam in Every Year After, the upcoming Prime Video adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Every Summer After. The story follows two childhood friends, Sam and Percy, over six years and one pivotal week in the lake town of Barry’s Bay. Cornett stars alongside
Sadie Soverall, who plays Percy.
Alongside Cornett and Sadie Soverall (Percy), the series also stars Aurora Perrineau as Chantal,
Abigail Cowen as Delilah, Michael Bradway as Charlie, and Joseph Chiu as Jordie.
Cornett is known for his role as E.J. in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a Disney+ show that earned an Emmy nomination during its run. His recent work includes Summer of 69, a feature from American High where he appeared with Chloe Fineman,
Charlie Day, and
Liza Koshy.
The original novel spent 14 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold over a million copies. It also gained significant popularity on TikTok, with the hashtag #EverySummerAfter reaching more than 81 million views. A release date for the series has not yet been announced.
