Welcome to 2025, a year set to spotlight rising music talents and their creations. Here are the top 3 most anticipated music releases to watch for.
Venezuelan singer Joaquina, winner of the 2023 Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist, will release her debut album, Al Romper La Burbuja, on Jan. 31. Co-produced by Julio Reyes Copello, the album blends folk, pop-rock, and avant-garde elements, showcased in the single “aeropuerto.” Joaquina describes it as a deeply personal project capturing her transition to adulthood.
Love & Hyperbole by Alessia Cara
Alessia Cara returns on Valentine’s Day with Love & Hyperbole, which she calls her “best work to date.” Singles like Dead Man, exploring emotional distance, and (Isn’t It) Obvious, a John Mayer collaboration on long-distance love, showcase her introspective songwriting. “These songs delve into different kinds of separation while expressing deep care,” Cara shared.
Polari by Olly Alexander
Olly Alexander’s solo debut, Polari, drops Feb. 7, featuring his Eurovision 2024 entry “Dizzy,” the title track, and the single Cupid’s Bow. Inspired by the secretive Polari language, the album explores intimacy, desire, and self-discovery through a pop lens. Alexander will embark on the Up Close and Polari Tour in March, hitting 15 European and U.K. cities, including Luxembourg and London.
