Just a few days after Isabel May landed a role in the revenge thriller Wild World, she joins another project! This time, she’s set to star in the action thriller Karoshi alongside South Korean actor Teo Yoo, Deadline reports.
The plot of Karoshi remains unknown, as does May’s role in the movie, but it’s described as a “corporate thriller with a samurai twist”—sounds promising! The film comes from the pen of Takashi Doscher, who will also serve as the director.
May rose to fame in the series 1883 and its sequel 1923, where she played Elsa Dutton. Currently, she has several projects lined up—she’s filming the romantic comedy Love Language with Chloë Grace Moretz and Lukas Gage, while also preparing to shoot the thriller Sunflower with Scott Speedman and Jurnee Smollett.
This year, she also appeared in an episode of American Masters, voicing Alta Hilsdale, and later in an episode of the war drama miniseries Masters of the Air as Marge Spencer.
Lastly, May has two movies that recently entered post-production: a sci-fi horror titled Menace with Colm Feore and Paula Boudreau, and a romantic drama titled Falling with Archie Renaux and Emma Laird. May is showing no signs of stopping, and we’re here for it.
Teo Yoo’s latest film, Past Lives, earned him a BAFTA Award nomination as well as broader recognition. This year, he was even invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences! Currently, he’s busy filming two web series—The Baddest Boy and The Recruit 2.
