Daniela Melchior Lands a Role in 'Anaconda' Remake Alongside Paul Rudd and Jack Black
Portuguese actress Daniela Melchior joins Paul Rudd and Jack Black in the Anaconda remake, promising a fresh, comedic twist.
Portuguese actress Daniela Melchior joins the cast of Anaconda, a remake of the ’90s horror classic, which, despite its poor reception by critics, became a cult hit and spawned a whole series of sequels.
She joins Paul Rudd and Jack Black for a dangerous adventure in the Amazon rainforest, seeking a giant, legendary anaconda. Ice Cube, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson all starred in the original, and the remake promises a fresh take on the classic. Deadline reports that the movie will take itself less seriously, stating the story leans more into comedy. Given that Paul Rudd and Jack Black are in it, it would be a shocker if it weren’t a comedy.
With the movie taking a more humorous approach, it might lose some of the charm that the original had. However, considering Tom Gormican, the man behind The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, is directing and co-writing the script, it’s safe to say the project is in good hands.
Besides starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in this year’s Road House, Melchior has also landed a role in Balls Up with Mark Wahlberg and Eric André, as well as a role in American Sweatshop with Lili Reinhart among others. It seems like Daniela is keeping herself busy, which is great to see—let’s hope Anaconda will be as gripping as its title suggests!
