Bella Ramsey stars in Sunny Dancer, a coming-of-age comedy about a teen in remission who finds friendship and love at summer camp.

Sunny Dancer follows a teenager named Ivy (played by Ramsey), who is in remission from cancer. Her parents insist that she attend a summer camp for young cancer survivors, but she absolutely dreads it. Reluctantly, she goes to the camp, and despite her initial skepticism, she finds new friends there and experiences love for the first time.

Variety reports that filming is expected to begin in April. Ramsey leads the cast, with Neil Patrick Harris, James Norton, Jessica Gunning, Louis Partridge, and Ruby Stokes attending the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star party, celebrating the 2025 EE Rising Star nominees ahead of the EE BAFTA Film Awards, at Pavyllon London restaurant at The Four Seasons Hotel, London. Picture date: Wednesday February 5, 2025.Ruby Stokes in supporting roles. George Jacques will direct the film, which he also wrote. This is his second movie, following the 2023 dramedy Black Dog. The release date is expected to be sometime in 2026.

Ramsey is currently gearing up for the release of The Last of Us season two, which recently teased the upcoming season with a series of pictures showcasing the new cast. Their role in the series earned them two Critics’ Choice Super Awards in 2024.
