Ayo Edebiri Channels Julia Roberts’ Iconic Style at Golden Globes
Ayo Edebiri wins Golden Globe, channels Julia Roberts’ '90s style, and teams up with her in Luca Guadagnino’s new thriller.
Ayo Edebiri has had a hugely successful year, and the cherry on top was her Golden Globe win for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series for her role in The Bear. She dressed to success for the gala by channeling Julia Roberts’ iconic '90s look.
The actress wore a grey Loewe suit with a matching shirt and a golden tie necklace in the shape of a feather. On her suit, she wore a red badge with an unknown logo, possibly representing a charity. Completing her outfit were dark brown Oxford shoes.
Julia Roberts wore a very similar outfit to the '90s Golden Globes, where she won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Steel Magnolias. It marked her first Golden Globe win, and the following year, she won another Golden Globe, this time for Pretty Woman.
In an interview with Vogue, Edebiri revealed that Roberts’ iconic look was one of the inspirations behind her outfit; the other was Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 romantic drama Queer.
Edebiri and Julia Roberts are currently working together on Luca Guadagnino’s new thriller, After the Hunt, in which they play lead roles alongside Andrew Garfield, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Chloë Sevigny.
