The 2024 Sundance Film Festival Celebrates its 40th Edition with Special Screenings and Events

The Sundance Film Festival 2024 program (taking place from January 18 to 28 in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah) presents a rich mosaic of cinematic storytelling, including the documentary “The Greatest Night in Pop” (2024) (directed by Bao Nguyen about the creation of the song “We Are the World,” (1985) featuring insights from Lionel Richie and Julia Nottingham.
Curator Ania Trzebiatowska emphasizes the festival’s focus on connecting the audience with artists through the Beyond Film program. The festival will offer inspirational discussions with notable figures such as Steven Soderbergh, Jesse Eisenberg, and Chiwetel Ejiofor, providing deep insights into their creative processes.
Marking its 40th anniversary, the festival will commemorate its legacy with a special conversation, “Power of Story: Four Decades of Taking Chances,” featuring industry veterans like Miguel Arteta and Richard Linklater. Additionally, the festival acknowledges its rich history with 4K restorations of iconic films, including “Napoleon Dynamite” (2004) and “Go Fish,” showcasing the enduring impact of the festival on the independent film landscape.
