Malia Baker and Kylie Cantrall are promoting their upcoming Disney movie Descendants: The Rise of Red, where the two play adversaries. During an appearance on Good Morning America, the actresses revealed how difficult it was to act mean to one another.

“It was so hard,” Malia admitted, while Kylie added, “Those scenes were hard, the ones where we had to hate each other because we couldn’t be further from that.”

They shared a particularly hilarious moment on set: “We had to do this death stare scene, where we’re just staring at each other intensely and we would just giggle every time,” Kylie said. Malia added, “50 takes later.”

Descendants: The Rise of Red premieres on Disney+ on July 12th and on Disney Channel on August 9th. Don’t miss it!
