Watch Out, Hollywood! Omar Apollo Lands Role in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer'

Singer Omar Apollo has announced his first acting role in Luca Guadagnino’s film Queer, where he will join Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey The film, based on William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novel, is set in 1940s Mexico City and follows the story of an American (played by Craig) who falls in love with a younger man (Starkey).

The film will premiere at the 81st Venice Film Festival this year. Apollo, known for his albums Ivory (2022) and God Said No (2024), expressed excitement about working with Guadagnino and the opportunity to explore acting.
