Trevor Jackson Takes Sabrina Carpenter's 'Please Please Please' to the Next Level
Trevor Jackson contributes a new verse to Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 hit ‘Please Please Please,’ offering a fresh perspective.
American actor and singer Trevor Jackson has a few words to add to Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 hit Please Please Please off her album Short n’ Sweet. But it’s not just words—it’s a full verse that serves as a follow-up response to what Carpenter is saying in the original song.
In Please Please Please, Carpenter expresses her fears that her boyfriend’s bad-boy reputation will ruin their relationship in the end. In the music video, her love interest is played by her then-boyfriend Barry Keoghan, who also seems to be the subject of her lyrics. Unfortunately, the two of them broke up last month.
Now Trevor Jackson is adding his own verse to the end of the song, giving the opposite perspective to the narrative the song presents. In his lyrics, he’s admitting his flaws while defending himself, saying things are not all black and white.
In his verse, however, his stance remains the same as Carpenter’s. He doesn’t want the rumors or his reputation to ruin the relationship they have. He admits things are complicated, but he wants to keep going.
Jackson has been slowly making his return to music, releasing snippets of his upcoming project BORNART, teasing what is to come. Last year, he released two EPs—He Don’t Know and Heads Up—as well as the It’s Complicated album.
Last year, he appeared in the musical film This Is Me… Now: A Love Story in a minor role, and he’s also currently playing Aaron Jackson on the TV series Grown-ish.
