Tash Sultana Announces New EP ‘Return to the Roots’ Amid Health Crisis

Tash Sultana is preparing to launch her most authentic EP yet, despite ongoing health challenges. The artist recently revealed the difficulties that have sidelined her from work.
Australian indie multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana has announced her upcoming EP, Return to the Roots, a deeply personal project shaped by years of struggle and transformation.
Sultana went on Instagram to share that the past few years have been anything but easy, facing canceled shows, health battles—including hepatitis and mast cell activation syndrome, while supporting her partner with cancer.
These experiences have poured directly into the new EP, making it Sultana’s most honest work yet. She adds, “It’s exactly what the title says—going back to where it all began."
Unlike past releases that may have leaned toward mainstream appeal, Return to the Roots is a project free from industry expectations. “I’m not trying to write a hit. I’m not trying to be like anyone else,” Sultana emphasized.
Known for her hypnotic live-looping performances and genre-blurring style, Sultana has consistently pushed musical boundaries. She recently dropped a new single, Hold On, which is dedicated to her partner, who is currently battling a deadly disease.
