Benson Boone's 'American Heart' Album: Release Date, Tracklist, and Details

Benson Boone’s highly anticipated second album ‘American Heart’ drops June 20, 2025, featuring ten tracks including the already-released single ‘Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else.’
Benson Boone is set to drop his sophomore album, American Heart, on June 20, 2025, via Night Street and Warner Records, following his critically acclaimed debut, Fireworks & Rollerblades. Boone officially announced the project during his Coachella main stage performance, where he premiered the title track, Young American Heart, live. Later that night, he unveiled the album cover—showing Boone standing in front of an American flag.

Benson’s Coachella set made headlines when he was joined by Queen guitarist Brian May for a stunning rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, followed by May adding classic Queen-inspired riffs to Boone’s breakout hit Beautiful Things. May had teased the collaboration earlier that day, posting photos of them traveling to Palm Springs together and calling Boone “a truly golden 22-year-old prodigy.”
American Heart was written over just 17 days with longtime collaborator Jack LaFrantz, who also worked on Boone’s debut album. In a March 2025 interview with Rolling Stone, Boone revealed he was eager to move beyond Beautiful Things—which spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200 and was the most-streamed song worldwide in 2024—saying, “I think I’m reaching a point where I want people to realize there’s more to me than just that song.”
The album’s lead single, Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else, released on February 27, 2025, introduces listeners to Boone’s more upbeat sound. The pop-rock track features pulsating synths and driving rhythms, with lyrics about moving on from past relationships. Boone told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 that the song transformed from a slow, sad piano piece into an energetic anthem during a session with producer Jason Evigan.
Personal experiences heavily shape the record: opener Young American Heart recounts Boone’s near-fatal teenage car accident with his lifelong best friend, while Mr. Electric Blue pays tribute to his tech-industry father who “can still do backflips in his early fifties.” Momma Song reflects on missing his mother, and the synth-driven The Man in Me explores a past relationship. Boone believes Mystical Magical, a quirky '70s-inspired track where he pushes his vocals to Tiny Tim-like heights, will resonate most with listeners.
The album also features I Wanna Be the One You Call, produced by Frank Ocean collaborator Malay, which evolved from an almost-discarded track into one of Boone’s favorites. With nearly 10 billion career streams to date and a BMI Champion Award coming on May 13, 2025, Boone continues to build on his momentum following his Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and iHeartRadio Music Award for Song of the Year.
