Emma D’Arcy joins Tom Cruise in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s star-studded new film—marking their big-screen return.

English actor Emma D’Arcy, known for playing Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, has just joined another major project! This time, they’re teaming up with action star American actor and producer Tom CruiseTom Cruise for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s new film.

According to Deadline, D’Arcy is joining a star-studded cast that includes Cruise, Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Babygirl Photocall - 81st Venice Film Festival, Italy - 30 Aug 2024 Sophie Wilde. Not much is known about the plot, aside from a synopsis that reveals the film is about “the most powerful man in the world [who] embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.”

This marks Iñárritu’s first English-language film since 2015’s The Revenant, which famously ended Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar drought, earning him the Academy Award for Best Actor after five previous nominations.

The film also marks D’Arcy’s return to the silver screen after five years. Their last film role was as Emma Hobday in the romantic drama Mothering Sunday, alongside Australian actress Odessa YoungOdessa Young and British actor Josh O'ConnorJosh O’Connor.
