Sunny Suljic Makes Film Comeback in 'Lurker' — Release Date Revealed

Sunny Suljic returns to film after four years with Lurker, a dark drama exploring obsession, fame, and rivalry.
American actor and musician Sunny Suljic is set to return to feature films after a four-year break, with a role in the drama Lurker, which has just set its release date for August 22, 2025.
Deadline reports that the film will open against the crime thriller Americana, starring Sydney Sweeney, and
Ron Howard’s survival thriller Eden, starring
Ana de Armas. Lurker premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, marking Suljic’s first time attending the event.
Lurker follows Théodore Pellerin as Matthew, a retail employee who becomes obsessed with Oliver, an emerging pop singer played by
Archie Madekwe, and infiltrates his inner circle. Sunny Suljic plays Jamie, Matthew’s co-worker, who also becomes interested in Oliver, leading Matthew to see him as competition. The film explores the darker side of fandom and the unhealthy obsession with fame that some people develop.
The film also features Havana Rose Liu as Shai,
Daniel Zolghadri as Noah, and
Zack Fox as Swett. Alex Russell directed the film from a screenplay he also wrote.
Suljic has recently been more focused on his musical career than acting, releasing his latest single shes a DEMON, as well as the THINK BIG EP last year, along with several other singles.
