In the trailer, Sophie is seemingly taken hostage by the charming Jack Quaid, who keeps her chained to a table as he feeds her. But there’s an undeniable chemistry brewing between the two, indicating that this will be a twisted kind of love story. Stockholm syndrome, perhaps?
Companion is a psychological thriller from the creators of The Notebook, with Drew Hancock making his directorial debut. Besides Thatcher and Quaid, the cast includes Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.
Filming wrapped in December 2023, and the producers took their time before releasing a trailer like this. But based on what we’ve seen, it’s safe to say the wait was worth it. The official release date is scheduled for January 10, 2025, and it can’t come soon enough.
