'Shivers' Is Sofia Wylie’s Next Blockbuster and We’re Here for It

The Andi Mack and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress Sofia Wylie has just landed her third feature film role! This time, she joins the cast of Shivers, a romantic fantasy film featuring Maddie Ziegler and Levi Miller.

According to Deadline, she is joining the cast alongside actors Iman Vellani, Lyon Daniels, Alexander Ludwig, Ross Butler, Alicia Witt, and Greg Kinnear. Shiver will be directed by Claire McCarthy, known for her work on The Colour Room with Phoebe Dynevor in her feature film debut, and Ophelia starring Daisy Ridley.

Shivers is based on Maggie Stiefvater’s young adult novel of the same name. The story follows Grace, who, at a very young age, is saved by a yellow-eyed wolf from a pack of wolves. Years later, she meets Sam, a young man with the same striking eyes as the wolf who rescued her. What follows? Naturally, they fall in love.

The project began development in 2023, with Andy Fickman initially attached as the director. Earlier this month, he departed the project, and Claire McCarthy stepped in to replace him. McCarthy is also co-writing the screenplay with Jett Tattersall.

Sofia Wylie hasn’t had a single project released this year, but she’s been busy filming the romantic drama The Map That Led to You with Madelyn Cline, Josh Lucas, and KJ Apa. She made her film debut in the 2019 comedy Back of the Net, and in 2022, she co-starred in the fantasy film The School for Good and Evil with Sophia Anne Caruso.

Wylie has been more active on TV than in film, beginning in 2017 with her breakout role as Buffy Driscoll on Andi Mack. She later lent her voice to Ironheart in several animated Marvel projects before starring as Gina Porter in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
