Roy Woods Releases Music Video for 'She Don’t Care Bout My Name'
Roy Woods has unveiled the official music video for ‘She Don’t Care Bout My Name,’ one of the standout tracks off his ‘Rolling Stone’ EP, released in December 2024.
The video highlights Roy Woods’tension and doubt in a relationship, tying in with the lyric, “She don’t care ’bout my name / When you gon’ care ’bout my name?”
The production uses dancehall-inspired rhythms alongside modern R&B elements. In the song, Roy voices his frustration and longing, hinting at a partner split between independence and commitment. While questioning her loyalty, he admits he can’t walk away:
“But baby girl honestly / You really don’t deserve those things / But I’m in love with how you move.”
Rolling Stone dropped on December 6, 2024, following his 2023 project Mixed Emotions. Roy has referred to this new release as “some of the best music I’ve ever made in my life!!” and teases bigger projects to come. Many still link him to his 2015 breakout track Drama with Drake, but he’s built a dedicated fanbase and a distinct identity over nearly a decade. With Rolling Stone, Roy continues to solidify his place within the OVO sound and shows why he’s considered one of R&B’s most underappreciated talents.
