The Prey actress Amber Midthunder has just landed another lead role! She was cast in Pointer, an action movie penned by John Wick’s Derek Kolstad, which hopes to launch a brand new movie franchise, according to Deadline.
Co-starring in the movie with her is Alan Ritchson, known for his roles in Reacher and Titans. Pointer follows a well-trained young woman (Midthunder) whose father (Ritchson) is kidnapped. She must use every skill she learned growing up to rescue him. Directing the movie is Garret Warren, a stuntman-turned-director who previously worked on stunts for movies like Logan, Avatar, and Road House.
Midthunder is currently busy filming the action thriller Novocaine with Jack Quaid, and her horror film Opus—co-starring Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich—is currently in post-production, so we can expect to hear more about it soon. Her latest movie, Rez Ball, which premiered at TIFF in September, was released on Netflix later that same month and was praised for its authentic portrayal of Indigenous culture.
If you can’t wait to see Amber on the silver screen again, we have good news! She may be returning as Naru in a sequel to the critically acclaimed sci-fi horror Prey. And let’s not forget, she was also recently cast in the second season of the monster series Monarch. Stay tuned for more updates!
