Paul Mescal Crashes Into a London Uber and the TikTokers Inside Can’t Believe It

Not everyone is as lucky as the two TikTokers, Bel and Em, whose Uber ride in London was hit by none other than Irish actor Paul Mescal! The two Australians were on their way home at 3 a.m. on Sunday morning when their ride was struck by a Lime bike—ridden by Mescal himself.

The two immediately recognized Mescal as he was recovering and quickly said, “Hi, Paul!” Their video, in which they recount the incident, then cuts to a clip one of them captured at the moment of impact. In the clip, Mescal can be heard saying, “If there is damage,” seemingly ready to offer to pay for it, but he is quickly stopped by the girls, who assure him there is no damage at all.

One of them described hearing a huge thud when Mescal hit the car, and the cab driver was not happy about it. But luckily for Mescal, the car was undamaged, and he was free to ride away.

Before he left, the girls told Mescal they were huge fans and that they loved him in A Streetcar Named Desire—which is especially funny since Paul was on his way home from the Noël Coward Theatre, where he had performed in the play that very night.

After receiving their praise and apologizing to everyone, Mescal said “bye,” hopped back on the bike, and disappeared into the night. Moments like this prove that it’s always worth going out—you never know when you might stumble upon a celebrity in a scenario you’d never dream of.
