Out Now: Tiny Habits and Lizzy McAlpine Collaborate on 'For Sale Sign'
Indie trio Tiny Habits collaborate with Lizzy McAlpine on For Sale Sign, an acoustic reflection on memories and life’s transitions.
Tiny Habits has released a new track titled For Sale Sign, featuring singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine. The song is an acoustic piece that reflects on the spaces and memories left behind when people move on from life.
This is the third time Tiny Habits and Lizzy McAlpine have collaborated since their joint performance at a Tiny Desk concert in 2022. Previous collaborations include Pushing It Down and Praying, released earlier this summer, and their feature on JP Saxe’s song Everything Ends.
For Sale Sign is Tiny Habits’ first release since their debut album, All for Something, which came out in May. The band, formed at Berklee College of Music and consisting of Maya Rae, Cinya Khan, and Judah Mayowa, initially gained attention through harmony-rich covers shared on social media platforms.
Lizzy McAlpine has expressed her admiration for Tiny Habits. In a recent interview with Tape Notes, she said she is obsessed with them and that they are able to elicit some really complex emotions with the things they come up with.
The band mentioned that For Sale Sign has been meaningful to them for a while, and they were waiting for the right time to share it. Speaking of the track, Cinya Khan explained:
“’For Sale Sign’ has lived with us for a while now and we’d been hoping for the right time and circumstances to put it into the world. It means a lot to us and reminds us about how special life is and just how lucky we are to live it. We’re so happy to release it into the world and hope it can sweetly hold its listeners for just a few moments.”
