Noah Kahan Pledges $25K Following Grammy Speech by Chappell Roan

Kahan’s $25K pledge follows Roan’s Grammys statement on label responsibilities, stirring talk of systemic change. Emerging artists stand to benefit — but will more names step forward?
Noah Kahan recently pledged $25,000 to tackle the healthcare crisis affecting emerging artists, drawing inspiration from
Chappell Roan’s Grammy speech. Roan highlighted how record labels often fail to provide adequate healthcare support, a reality many rising stars face as they juggle touring, promotion, and personal well-being.

This high-profile contribution also encouraged Charli XCX to match the same amount. Both moves shed light on an issue that up-and-coming artists have long struggled with behind the scenes.
Not everyone agreed, however. Former A&R executive Jeff Rabhan labeled Roan’s speech “wildly misinformed,” prompting her to challenge him to match her donation. Music Healthcare Alliance founder Tatum Allsep noted that resources are available, but artists — especially those just breaking out — often don’t know where to look.
In any case, the public perception has been mostly positive — although portion of the audience (rightfully) questions whether celebrity donations alone can bring meaningful, long-term reform.
With Noah Kahan and Charli XCX stepping up, it’s clear the conversation is growing louder. Who else do you think will join the fight?
