Ncuti Gatwa's Future on 'Doctor Who' in Doubt as BBC Responds to Cancellation Rumors

Rumors swirl about Ncuti Gatwa’s ‘Doctor Who’ future as the BBC denies cancellation, but his departure remains uncertain.
Recently, there have been rumors surrounding Ncuti Gatwa’s future on Doctor Who and his possible departure from the series, which could result in the show being axed. An insider from The Sun claimed that the show’s ratings have significantly dropped and that Gatwa plans to move to Los Angeles to distance himself from the series.
In response to the rumors, the BBC issued a statement to The Express, stating that the series “has not been shelved” and that the “decision on season three will be made after season two airs.” Regarding Gatwa’s future, the BBC stated that they “never comment on the Doctor and future storylines.”
This raises a few questions, as Gatwa’s continuation in the role of the Doctor has not been explicitly confirmed. While the BBC disproved one rumor, they were hesitant to comment on the other.
The upcoming Season 15 is expected to premiere sometime in 2025, though no specific release date has been announced yet. Along with Gatwa, Millie Gibson will return as Ruby Sunday, and
Varada Sethu will join as the new companion, Belinda Chandra. English actress
Archie Panjabi has been cast as a villain, while
Rose Ayling-Ellis’ role remains a mystery for now.
