Joe Locke Spills on Aubrey Plaza’s Scene-Stealing Energy in 'Agatha All Along'
Joe Locke opens up about working with Aubrey Plaza on ‘Agatha All Along,’ praising her cool, witchy energy on and off-screen.
The Agatha All Along actor Joe Locke, who plays Billy Maximoff in the series, recently opened up about working with his co-star Aubrey Plaza, and he had nothing but kind words to say about her.
On an episode of The Official Marvel Podcast with the cast of Agatha All Along, Locke praised Plaza, who plays Lady Death, for being effortlessly cool, both in and out of character.
“It’s amazing. Aubrey is so effortlessly cool, but then you put her in the Death outfit, and she just is like a crazy witch in the best way. It was a fun week of shooting the ending scene.”
Locke and Kathryn Hahn’s characters, Billy and Agatha Harkness, also developed a close bond. During the podcast, Hahn explained that, as Agatha, she started viewing Billy as her surrogate son, even comparing him to her son Nicholas Scratch.
“It kinda makes sense that I’ve taken on Teen as my surrogate son and want to protect him, even though I can’t show it. I love him and want to protect him at all costs. I feel like that part of Agatha’s self has been buried for a very long time.”
When the show premiered, it garnered over 9.8 million viewers during its first week, becoming the No. 1 TV show on Disney+. The final two episodes were released last week and left fans wanting more. While we might not get more of the series, we may see some of its characters in future MCU projects.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five is coming to an end next year, with only a few projects remaining. Phase Six will begin soon after, with The Fantastic Four: First Steps as the opening film, launching the new phase in July.
