Henry Cavill and Rising Theatre Star Daniel Quinn-Toye Take Lead Roles in Voltron Feature Film
Henry Cavill and Daniel Quinn-Toye have been cast in the lead roles for the adaptation of the famous Japanese series Voltron.
Film director Rawson Marshall Thurber, known for We’re the Millers, Red Notice, and Central Intelligence, is currently developing a feature-length adaptation of the iconic animated series Voltron. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Thurber co-wrote the screenplay with Ellen Shanman, though details of the plot remain under wraps.
Amazon MGM is behind the project, with filming scheduled to begin in Australia in fall 2024. Henry Cavill is set to lead the cast, with rising talent Daniel Quinn-Toye, who impressed the studio with his work as Tom Holland’s understudy in Romeo & Juliet, recently joining the production.
The film is based on the Japanese animated series Voltron, which aired in the 1980s. The story follows teenagers who pilot robot machines that combine into the mega-robot Voltron. The series ran for a total of eight seasons, with the last one premiering on Netflix in 2016.
