GloRilla Donates 25,000$ to Her High School
Students gathered for what they thought was a pep rally celebrating their football team’s state championship, but it turned into a surprise visit from GloRilla, a proud Melrose High alum.
The 2017 graduate returned with a $25,000 donation to the school’s library, aimed at improving literacy with upgraded software and new student spaces. In her honor, the library will be renamed The Gloria H. Woods Media Center.
During the visit, GloRilla shared,
“It’s such a nostalgic feeling—I can’t believe I’m this old now!”
MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins praised her, saying,
“She’s a shining example of leaving a legacy and the power of education.”
The surprise homecoming comes as GloRilla celebrates being named Billboard’s Hottest Female Rapper of 2024, topping stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B.
