Freya Allan Reveals 'The Witcher' Season 4 Has Wrapped Filming With a Tribute To The Rats
Freya Allan announces ‘The Witcher’ Season 4 has wrapped filming, thanking The Rats cast for “the most special season.”
It seems The Witcher season 4 just wrapped filming! Ciri actress Freya Allan recently took to Instagram to thank the actors who played The Rats for “the most special season” of the series.
In the post, Allan expresses her gratitude to each member of The Rats and shares an artwork she created for each character—Mistle, Iskra, Giselher, Reef, Kayleigh, and Asse. Pretty impressive, right?
The Rats are a group of young thieves whom Ciri meets at the end of season 3. Ciri spends a significant amount of time with the group in Baptism of Fire, a novel that serves as the basis for season 4. Judging by her post, it’s clear that Freya had a blast working with the actors portraying them: Christelle Elwin, Aggy K. Adams, Ben Radcliffe, Juliette Alexandra, Fabian McCallum, and Connor Crawford.
Freya Allan didn’t have many roles before playing Ciri in the series. She appeared on TV in Into the Badlands and The War of the Worlds in 2019, before her big break in The Witcher. Her role in the series has earned her two Saturn Award nominations for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a TV Series in 2021 and 2024.
This year, she starred in two films: a supernatural horror flick titled Baghead, where she played the lead role, and the blockbuster Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, where she portrayed Mae.
The fourth season of The Witcher started filming in April, meaning it took around seven months to wrap. The third season took around ten months in total, from the start of filming to its release on Netflix, so we might expect season 4 to drop sometime around late 2025. Fingers crossed!
