The first look at Emma Mackey in ‘Hot Milk’ reveals a tender moment with Vicky Krieps ahead of its release.

Emma Mackey’s upcoming drama film Hot Milk is currently in post-production and lacks a trailer, but the first look at the film has just been released!

The released image shows Mackey lying in Vicky Krieps’ arms, hinting that the characters of the two might fall in love. In Hot Milk, Emma Mackey plays Sofia, a young woman who embarks on a journey with her mother, Rose (played by Fiona Shaw), who suffers from paralysis. While Rose undergoes treatment, Sofia falls in love with Ingrid (played by Vicky Krieps), a seamstress.

Hot Milk is based on Deborah Levy’s 2016 novel, which was nominated for the 2016 Man Booker Prize. The film will be written and directed by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, who makes her directorial debut with this project. Lenkiewicz’s last project was the drama film She Said, for which she wrote the screenplay. Her work on the film earned her nominations from the BAFTAs and the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Besides Mackey, Krieps, and Shaw, the movie also features Vincent Perez as Dr. Gomez and Yann Gael as Matthew, along with Patsy Ferran and in an undisclosed role. Hot Milk will be one of the movies premiering at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.

Aside from Hot Milk, Mackey has another project lined up for 2025. She will be the lead actress in James L. Brooks’ comedy Ella McCay, joined by stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, and Ayo Edebiri.
