Tyler Hoechlin praises David Corenswet’s Superman, calling him “classy,” as excitement for James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ grows.

The anticipation for David Corenswet’s Superman grows each day, and now he has received praise from former Superman actor Tyler Hoechlin, who called him a “very, very classy guy” after receiving a note from him.

Speaking to Screen Rant at the recent Saturn Awards, Hoechlin discussed the ending of Superman & Lois as well as the future of the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s upcoming movie, having played the character for eight years.

Regarding the conclusion of Superman & Lois, which saw Superman ultimately becoming human and dying of old age beside Lois, Hoechlin praised the bold creative decision, calling it “ballsy.” Although he had his doubts while filming, he believes the team did a great job telling the story.

What stood out was his excitement for the new Superman movie. He expressed his admiration for Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and shared that he “can’t wait to see the movie.” Hoechlin also mentioned that Corenswet sent him a “really nice note” before they started making Superman.

Continuing with his praise, Hoechlin called Corenswet a “very, very classy guy” and wished him, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and the rest of the cast and crew the best.

This isn’t the first time Corenswet has been praised by a fellow industry member. Recently, Jack Quaid revealed that he was confident Corenswet would become the Man of Steel years before it became a reality.

Hawkgirl actress Isabela Merced also had high praise for Corenswet, calling him an “angel” and declaring that he is Superman. Director James Gunn has similarly high hopes for Corenswet, stating that he will “blow people away.

Superman is set for release on July 11, 2025, and will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the DC Universe.
