Daisy Edgar-Jones will star as Elizabeth Bennet in Netflix’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, stepping into Keira Knightley’s role!

The Normal People and Twisters star Daisy Edgar-Jones has just landed another big role! She will be stepping into Keira Knightley’s shoes as Elizabeth Bennet in a Netflix adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, as reported by the Daily Mail.

It’s been nearly 30 years since the last TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, graced our screens. To this day, it remains beloved by fans and critics alike, winning both Emmy and BAFTA Awards.

The 2005 movie adaptation, featuring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, was probably the biggest hit, grossing over $120 million on a budget of $28 million. It also earned Knightley an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, cementing her, at just 20 years old, as the third-youngest Best Actress nominee at the time.

Daisy Edgar-Jones was recently propelled into stardom with Twisters, which performed surprisingly well at the box office. Her latest film, On Swift Horses, co-starring Jacob Elordi, was screened for the first time at the Toronto International Film Festival just last month, though no release date has been set. But don’t worry—Sony has recently acquired the distribution rights to the film!
