Austin Butler Stars in First 'Caught Stealing' Trailer, Unveiled at CinemaCon

Austin Butler’s Caught Stealing is still a few months from its premiere, but those who attended CinemaCon 2025 were lucky enough to see the film’s first trailer — and it’s quite violent!

The trailer shows Butler’s character, Hank Thompson, getting punched in the face, scolded by Bad Bunny as Colorado, and hitting someone with a baseball bat — possibly his own, since Hank is a former baseball player.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, Caught Stealing follows Hank, a former baseball pro who becomes entangled with the mob in 1990s New York City — all because of a cat and a fat stash of cash. As his world spirals into chaos, Hank must fight for his life, pushed to his limits and forced to do whatever it takes to survive.

Joining Butler are Zoë Kravitz as Yvonne, Regina King as Roman, Matt Smith as Russ, Liev Schreiber as Ed, Will Brill as Jason, Bad Bunny as Colorado, Griffin Dunne as Paul, Vincent D’Onofrio as Paris, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Dale, among others.

Besides Caught Stealing, Butler will also star in Ari Aster’s upcoming Western black comedy Eddington, alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and Luke Grimes. He was also recently rumored to star in the spy thriller Enemies with Jeremy Allen White.

Caught Stealing premieres on August 29, 2025.
