Will Poulter Called "Daddy" by 'Warfare' Co-Stars — Here’s Why

Will Poulter’s Warfare co-stars gave him a surprising nickname — and yes, it all started after a sober curry night!
English actor Will Poulter recently starred in the war action film Warfare, which premiered last month — and you won’t believe the nickname he got from his co-stars!
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Poulter’s Warfare co-star Joseph Quinn revealed that when they went bowling during their free time, they had to choose nicknames for the game. Quinn shared that his nickname was “Funcle,” but it never stuck — to which
Kit Connor added, “because he’s not really that fun.”
Kit Connor’s nickname was revealed as “Babyface,” Charles Melton’s was initially “Romeo,” but he changed it to “Top,” which was his dad’s nickname, and
D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai landed three nicknames: “DP,” “Baby Ray,” and “Dozer.”
And Will Poulter’s nickname? “Daddy!”
Connor shared that they were walking back from a curry house — completely sober — when someone just said, “What if we just started calling Will ‘Daddy’?” He continued, saying they joked about using it in front of directors Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, thinking, They’re going to hate it.
But for some reason, they loved it — and it stuck with Will! Poulter later added that it’s mainly because he kept reminding his co-stars when laundry day was and things like that.
Warfare had its world premiere at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago on March 16, and will be followed by a theatrical release on April 11, 2025.
