Japanese actress and singer Anna Sawai, best known for her critically acclaimed series Shōgun, is finally joining a new project following her portrayal of Toda Mariko in the series.
Deadline reports that she’s joining David Leitch’s new action thriller How to Rob a Bank, which is set to star actors like
Nicholas Hoult and
Pete Davidson. Plot details remain unknown.
Sawai made waves last year with Shōgun, and rumors surrounding her next role began to swirl quickly. She was rumored to play Yoko Ono in Sam Mendes’s Beatles biopics, and she was recently announced to star in (Saint) Peter alongside Christian Convery.
She has also been busy working on Pachinko and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which recently wrapped its second season and is expected to air sometime next year.
