Aimee Lou Wood celebrates ‘Toxic Town’ Netflix release, with co-star Matthew Durkan calling working with her a “life highlight.”
Fresh off her acclaimed performance in The White Lotus, which brought her significant attention, Aimee Lou Wood has just starred in another powerful project. The British drama series Toxic Town has premiered on Netflix, with Wood playing one of the women affected by the Corby toxic waste case.
Her on-screen husband, Mark, is portrayed by Matthew Durkan, who took to Instagram to celebrate the show’s release and praise Wood, calling her an “angel” and saying that working with her will “forever be a life highlight.” Wood responded, “You are the greatest.”
Wood also shared Durkan’s post on her Instagram, calling him the “Best screen husband in the 🌍” along with a few other snaps from his post.
Toxic Town is a four-part miniseries that follows three mothers fighting for justice in the Corby toxic waste case, a legal battle in the UK over birth defects caused by toxic waste exposure in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Recently, Wood and Jodie Whittaker spoke with the real-life mothers involved in the case. Tracey Taylor, whom Wood portrays in the series, thanked her for honoring her daughter Shelby and for doing justice to everyone affected.
