Abigail Cowen Gets Possessed in 'The Ritual' With Al Pacino and Dan Stevens in Terrifying New Trailer
Abigail Cowen stars as Emma Schmidt in The Ritual, a chilling exorcism horror with Al Pacino and Dan Stevens, out April 2025.

Abigail Cowen is about to get possessed! The first trailer for the upcoming horror movie The Ritual has just been released, and it shows Cowen as Emma Schmidt, the subject of one of the most well-documented exorcisms in American history.
Based on Schmidt’s story, the film is set in 1928 and stars 
Al Pacino as Father Theophilus Riesinger and 
Dan Stevens as Father Joseph Steiger—the two priests who performed the exorcism on Schmidt.
Joining Cowen, Pacino, and Stevens are 
Ashley Greene as Sister Rose, 
Patricia Heaton as Mother Superior, and 
Ritchie Montgomery as Chester.
Besides The Ritual, Cowen will also star in the sci-fi thriller Heavenly Wickedness with Joey Bicicchi and 
François Chau, the drama Summerhouse with Jacob Ward and 
Malcolm McDowell, and the sports drama Daisy with Melissa Jackson and 
Dana Wheeler-Nicholson.
The Ritual premieres on April 18, 2025.
