Through an Instagram post, the famous street artist Banksy claimed ownership of a mural](/x/mural/01-0201-3063c) on the wall of a house on Hornsey Road in Finsbury, London. The artist chose a very fitting location, a wall situated behind a tree devoid of branches, which Banksy revitalized and turned green again through his painting.
Local residents are pleased that Banksy chose their street for his artwork and created a piece that attracted the entire community out to view it. The graffiti removal team has been asked to preserve the artwork.
The identity of the street artist, whose works are often satirical and carry cultural or political messages, remains unknown even after years of activity, leading to speculation about his identity. Artists such as Robin Gunningham from Bristol or Robert Del Naja (a member of the band Massive Attack) have been suggested as potential Banksy candidates.
