Introducing the Future of Fashion At the Graduate Fashion Week 2024
Each year, the GFW showcases the best of BA fashion talent. From rising designer names to career breakers, these are the future stars of the fashion industry.
• Jasmyn Lopuszansky
Her collection at the Graduate Fashion Week 2024 has just been highly commended. That means the Sheffield Hallam University Bachelor student Jasmyn Lopuszansky will be joining the Best of GFW24 collections at the end of the week.
Inspired by feminine curves and lingerie, she designed four unique mix and match looks all building around a central piece – a corset – the most powerful garment a woman can wear, making her feel strong and in control and loving her body, as the designer has said herself. The designs come with matching bags as well.
• Lillie Westgate
Taking inspiration from fashion’s highly respected craft, the designer named her collection The Shoe Makers. The five-look collection includes heavy denim two- pieces sets and dresses resembling the shoemaker’s work apron or gingham shirts and headscarfs giving off the rustic aesthetic.
The Winner of the Norwich University Of The Arts Fashion Presentation Lillie Westgate will also be joining the Best of GFW24 collections at the end of the week.
• Thea Hunter
The designer from the De Montfort University Thea Hunter created a three-look collection entirely inspired by her grandparents’ lovestory. The garments carry pieces of love letters with slogans like “Dearest Alan, I love you” or “Another weekend gone”. Some designs use the shape of envelopes to create structural patchwork.
The collection is made from 100% deadstock fabric as well as charity shops brought denim jeans. It will be joining the Best of GFW24 collections at the end of the week.
• Alice Daggett
Inspired by the nature and timeless feminine elegance, the designer Alice Daggett is the Winner of the Winchester School of Art Fashion Presentation and will be joining the Best of GFW24 collections at the end of the week.
From large bows and puff sleeves to hourglass silhouettes and fur gilets, her five-look collection under the Alice & The Label is the epitome of the English countryside-chic.
