Zoey Deutch premieres ‘The Threesome’ at SXSW 2025, teases reunion with Glen Powell, and talks Broadway-to-film transition.
American actress Zoey Deutch recently attended the premiere of her latest movie, The Threesome, at the 2025 South by Southwest Film Festival, and shared a few words about a potential third movie with
Glen Powell.
Speaking with The Mary Sue at SXSW, Deutch was asked if she’d be interested in another collaboration with Powell, following their previous films—the 2016 comedy-drama Everybody Wants Some!! and the 2018 rom-com Set It Up.
Deutch enthusiastically responded that she’d “love to,” adding that Powell is also “very game,” but mentioned they still need to “find the right fit.”
Later in the interview, Deutch reflected on the shift from her recent Broadway role back to film press. She most recently spent her time playing Emily Webb in Our Town, describing that experience as “the best time ever.” Now, she admits feeling slightly out of place doing movie press again.
The Threesome is a romantic comedy which follows a young man whose longtime crush unexpectedly leads him into a threesome that initially feels like a fantasy come true. However, once reality sets in, all three participants must confront the consequences.
The film stars Zoey Deutch as Olivia,
Ruby Cruz as Jenny,
Jonah Hauer-King as Connor, and
Jaboukie Young-White as Greg.
