Sisters Violet and Madeline McGraw star in The Curse of the Necklace, a horror film by director Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz.

Sister duo Violet McGraw and Madeleine McGraw are teaming up for The Curse of the Necklace, a horror film directed by Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz, a Chilean filmmaker with only one feature film under his belt—the 2022 thriller Pumpkinhole. Luckily for us, The Curse of the Necklace has just released its trailer, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come from the talented sisters.

The duo will be joining a cast that includes Sarah Lind, Henry Thomas, Roma Maffia, Felix Solis, Christina Moore, and more.

The official description of the movie reads: “A family navigates turbulent dynamics in the 1960s. The mother separates from her alcoholic husband, while the daughters grapple with the changes. An antique gift from the father hides a dark force that imperils them all.” Just reading that gives off an eerie vibe.

Violet is solidifying her place as a horror actress, with 2022’s M3GAN being such a success that a sequel, M3GAN 2.0, is set for release next year. This year, she had only a minor role in the sci-fi drama The Life of Chuck, which was screened exclusively at TIFF. However, the film won the People’s Choice Award there, so The Life of Chuck is definitely something to look out for. No worries—it will be released next year, so you won’t miss it.

Violet’s older sister Madeleine made her mark in the 2021 horror film The Black Phone, a role that earned her the Best Supporting Performance award at the 2023 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards. Pretty impressive for a 14-year-old, right? Her latest film, Captain Tsunami, recently entered post-production, so it’s only a matter of time before we see her on screen again.

The Curse of the Necklace will be available on Tubi starting this Friday, so get your popcorn ready!
