Who Are the Biggest Contenders at the 78th BAFTA Film Awards?

The 78th British Academy Film Awards will be held this Sunday at the Royal Festival Hall in London, with David Tennant returning as host after making his debut last year. Anora follows Ani (Mikey Madison), a young Uzbek-American exotic dancer from Brooklyn, who enters a whirlwind romance with Vanya, the son of a wealthy Russian oligarch (Mark Eydelshteyn). In The Brutalist, Adrien Brody stars as a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the U.S., struggling to achieve the American Dream until a wealthy client transforms his life. The film also features Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, and Raffey Cassidy.

Emilia Pérez follows a Mexican cartel leader who seeks the help of a lawyer to fake his death and transition into a woman, hoping to start a new life. Conclave follows Cardinal Thomas Lawrence (Ralph Fiennes) as he organizes a conclave to elect the next Pope after the current one dies, only to uncover secrets and scandals about the potential candidates. Besides Fiennes, the film stars Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow.
