Sophie Thatcher Teams Up with Nicolas Winding Refn for 'Her Private Hell'

Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton to star in Nicolas Winding Refn’s new thriller ‘Her Private Hell’, filming soon in Tokyo.
American actress Sophie Thatcher, best known for her role in Yellowjackets, has just landed a role in
Nicolas Winding Refn’s new feature film Her Private Hell, alongside Riverdale star
Charles Melton.
Variety reports the two will join rising actresses Kristine Froseth and
Havana Rose Liu in Neon’s new picture, which has been simply described as “something groovy” on Neon’s social media accounts.
Thatcher most recently starred in the sci-fi thriller Companion with Jack Quaid, as well as in the fourth season of Yellowjackets, which recently concluded with its season finale on April 13. In October of last year, she ventured into music territory, releasing her debut EP, Pivot & Scrape.
The film Her Private Hell will mark Nicolas Winding Refn’s return to feature filmmaking after a nine-year hiatus following his last movie, The Neon Demon, starring Elle Fanning. In 2023, Refn released his TV series Copenhagen Cowboy, which he created, directed, and co-wrote himself.
Production for Her Private Hell is expected to begin this summer in Tokyo.
