Kit Connor’s hit LGBTQ+ teen romance series Heartstopper might not end the way fans expected. Three seasons in, Netflix has announced that the series will wrap up not with a full-blown season, but with a feature film that promises to tie up all the loose ends.
The Heartstopper movie is based on the sixth and final graphic novel by Alice Oseman. It follows Nick and Charlie as they face big changes—Nick is heading to uni, and Charlie is learning more about himself. It’s a story about growing up, staying close, and finding out if their relationship can go the distance.
Netflix reports that filming will begin in summer 2025, with the movie focusing not just on Nick and Charlie’s journey, but also on the lives of their close-knit group of friends. Still Alice director Wash Westmoreland will helm the film, with series creator Alice Oseman writing the script.
Outside of Heartstopper, Joe Locke made his superhero debut as Wiccan in Agatha All Along last year—a role that earned him several award nominations and some wins. He also made a splash in theatre, playing Tobias Ragg in the Broadway production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
