Joe Locke Could Win Big At Independent Spirit and Saturn Awards This Year

Emerging Manx actor Joe Locke, who recently starred as Billy Maximoff in the Marvel series Agatha All Along, has been nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Breakthrough Performance in a New Scripted Series!

The other nominees include Jessica Gunning for her role as Martha Scott in Baby Reindeer, Diarra Kilpatrick for portraying Diarra Brickland in Diarra from Detroit, Megan Stott for her performance as Penelope in Penelope, and Hoa Xuande for his role as the Captain in The Sympathizer.

Upon hearing the news, Joe took to Instagram, reposting the announcement in his story with the caption, “Woweeeeee!” His Agatha All Along co-star Aubrey Plaza also celebrated by sharing the news on her own Instagram story, adding a cute witch’s hat to the post.

Joe’s Agatha All Along co-stars received nominations as well. Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha Harkness, was nominated for Best Lead Performance in a New Scripted Series, while Patti Lupone earned a nomination for Best Supporting Performance in a New Scripted Series. Hahn shared the news on her Instagram story, congratulating both Locke and Lupone.

And if the Independent Spirit Award nomination wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, Joe Locke has also been nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Younger Performer in a Television Series! He will compete against Zackary Arthur, Hannah Cheramy, Cameron Crovetti, Rhenzy Feliz, Xolo Maridueña, and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.

The 40th Independent Spirit Awards will take place in Santa Monica on February 22, 2025. Let’s hope Joe takes home at least one of these prestigious awards!
