American rapper SminoSmino unveiled a short film titled Maybe In Nirvana, adapted from his 2024 album of the same name. He co-directed it with City James, with BASEWOOD handling production under the EVEN banner.

The story focuses on consciousness and self-discovery, sparked by a cosmic eye drop that pushes Smino and his friends to ask, “Do you know why you’re here?” The soundtrack comes directly from Maybe In Nirvana, which arrived in December 2024 and was praised for its boundary-pushing take on hip hop.

Samara Cyn, cast in the short film, will join Smino on his upcoming Kountry Kousins tour. This release aligns with his broader vision: the short film is a creative component of the album rather than a simple promo. The official teaser is posted on YouTube, but the entire film appears on its official webpage via a “name your price” system. Behind-the-scenes features start at $5.
