Rachel Zegler’s 'Snow White' Under Fire Again as Leaked Trailer Fuels More Criticism

Rachel Zegler’s Snow White is facing yet another problem on its way to the 2025 premiere in March. This time, the trailer for the film was leaked online and has come under heavy criticism, yet again.

It has been three months since Disney released the first teaser for Snow White to the public, and it was universally panned. The video on YouTube has over 10 million views and 1.4 million dislikes, which speaks volumes about the public reaction.

The leaked trailer reveals a plot twist that has left many raising their eyebrows: this time, Snow White is the one saving the Prince. Zegler and Gal Gadot previously teased this, and now it has been confirmed.

The trouble with the remake began back in 2021, when Zegler was cast as Snow White. Some criticized the casting because Zegler is half Latina, while Snow White is described as having “skin as white as snow.” Zegler addressed the backlash by emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and representation in modern media.

In 2022, actor Peter Dinklage criticized the remake for perpetuating stereotypes in the portrayal of dwarves. Disney responded by taking a different approach—casting only one person with dwarfism among the group playing the dwarves. Problem solved?

In a highly controversial interview with Gal Gadot, Zegler described the original plot as “extremely dated,” adding, “It’s no longer 1937.” The new Snow White will not be dreaming about love; she is going to become a “fearless leader.” This angered many fans of the original, as it significantly alters the plot.

Snow White’s transformation into a “leader” is evident even in the previously leaked clip featuring the dwarves. In the original, Snow White, with the help of animals, cleans the dwarves’ house as a gesture of gratitude for their help. In the remake, however, she assigns chores to each dwarf. It’s no surprise that fans are upset; the changes seem nonsensical to many.

Lastly, Zegler nearly lost the role due to controversial remarks about Donald Trump—a situation that led her to retract her statements and apologize. Additionally, her expression of support for Palestine led to further boycotts.
