Rachel Zegler Might Be the Next Christine in 'The Phantom of the Opera'
Rachel Zegler is rumored to play Christine in the upcoming ‘Phantom of the Opera’ adaptation directed by Kenny Ortega.
There’s a new rumor surrounding the Snow White actress Rachel Zegler. This time, according to insider MyTimeToShineHello, the actress is being eyed to play Christine in the upcoming adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera titled Phantom.
The adaptation was announced in September last year, with Kenny Ortega directing and executive producing the movie. Ortega is known for his work on Disney’s High School Musical and The Descendants franchises.
The Phantom of the Opera follows a mysterious, disfigured man, known as the Phantom, who lives under the Paris Opera House. One day, he falls in love with Christine, a young soprano, and it drives him to the point where he manipulates her career to make her the star of the opera. It all leads to a tragic love triangle between Christine, the Phantom, and her suitor Raoul.
It’s been four years since Rachel shared a video of herself singing Why Have You Brought Me Here? / Raoul, I’ve Been There from The Phantom of the Opera. In the video, Zegler demonstrates just how talented a singer she is, and it’s this performance that might convince you she is the perfect fit for the role of Christine.
Zegler is currently starring in the Broadway production of Romeo + Juliet, during which her Hunger Games co-star Tom Blyth recently paid her a visit, and she’s gearing up for the March premiere of the highly controversial Snow White.
