Mikey Madison earns her first Oscar nod for ‘Anora,’ and Robert De Niro shares his awards advice with her on Graham Norton.
Mikey Madison has a highly successful year behind her, thanks to her latest film, Anora, which has earned her numerous accolades. One of them is her first Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the film. Amid her busy schedule, she stopped by The Graham Norton Show and received Oscar advice from an industry legend—
Robert De Niro.
With two wins and seven additional nominations, De Niro is no stranger to the Academy Awards. That’s why host Graham Norton asked if there was anything he wished he had known before attending the ceremony. To Norton’s disappointment, De Niro’s answer was a brief “no” as he chuckled.
Eventually, he did share some tips. He said that if you prepare a speech, you are “probably, definitely” not going to win and that being spontaneous in such a moment is a good thing. He also added that just by being nominated, you’ve “already won.”
Anora is nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Madison. The ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025.
