LaRussel Drops New EP Party on the Westside – Here’s What We Think About It

LaRussel is probably one of the most productive hip-hop artists out there. Just in February, he released 13 singles—he’s like a tune-churning factory.

It all makes sense, as the new EP is a compilation of previously released singles, with the exception of one new track, Tweedle Deedley Dee.

However, excessive productivity might be the artist’s enemy. So far, the numbers don’t show any real engagement with the audience.

The whole album sounds a bit rushed. The tracks don’t hit the mark in either lyricism or production, although some of the tracks have good sonic ideas and unorthodox rapping.

The only single that has really resonated with the audience in his discography is Caught Up in My Head, which has racked up 1.2 million streams on Spotify.

Let’s see if LaRussel slows down and produces something a bit more substantial next time.
