Julien Baker and Torres Perform an Unreleased Single on The Daily Show

Julien Baker and Torres are slowly unveiling their forthcoming album Send a Prayer My Way.
The new single premiered live on The Daily Show with 
Michael Kosta. Later, the musicians had a quick interview with the host to talk about the idea behind the album.
It was a bit of a surprise to find out that Torres was brought up in a very religious Baptist environment. She struggled as a queer person. Ironically, once she left her home state of Georgia, she became even more connected to God.
Julien Baker further explained that Send a Prayer My Way is a natural longing for reaching the divine. Even in the context of queer culture, this is a universal desire.
A cool fact: the new single Bottom of a Bottle was the first demo track that Torres sent to Julien at the time of the album’s inception.
